As a young competitive athlete, I was always training. I needed excellent balance, endurance and strength. I was hard on my body and felt like Sunnybrook Emergency knew me by name with all my sprains and strains. My father who managed quite well with a chronic low back condition thanks to his chiropractor, took me to his clinic. The chiropractor watched me walk and assessed my joint range of motion and told me I had one leg longer then the other and my body was imbalanced because of it. After his treatment plan ended I noticed I was much less accident prone and was feeling at the top of my game.

I returned to Toronto to study Kinesiology and worked as a personal trainer in the university gym. I knew I wanted to be in health care so I started working in clinics all over the city. I gained insight to how the health care system worked and it became apparent to me that a traditional family practice was not for me. Treating a symptom seemed like a band aid solution to the real question of “why do you feel that way”. Working alongside a chiropractor and a physiotherapist as a personal trainer I observed the diagnostic abilities that a chiropractor has and saw the role as a ‘detective of wellness’ as such. Someone who looks for the answer to ‘why is this person not functioning at their finest’. I applied to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and after four long years and two inner city clinic internships, I graduated in 2013 as a Chiropractor. One who wants to see how your body moves, ask a detailed history, explain how your body functions and what is not functioning well in order to help you reach your peak potential.

I use a variety of techniques in my practice and I am certified in Acupuncture by the Acupuncture Council of Ontario and the Webster technique by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. I have completed courses in Active release therapy (ART), Neurokinetic therapy (NKT) and OTZ.

I am passionate about health, nutrition and exercise. I love biking and hiking with my husband, young kids and our dog and I am happy to have recently relocated to Durham where I can be closer to these things.

I am a life-loving chiropractor who passionately believes that we were all meant to live a full life of laughter, love, play, and enjoyment. I try to both live and move with purpose.

I am a mother of two beautiful, busy boys, a wife to a fantastically accepting husband, and alpha dog to a little terrier named Piper.

I love all manner of sport, and have dabbled in most. I figure skated as a youth, played a lot of basketball, have completed a half Ironman triathlon, and enjoy a good weightlifting or Pilates session. I worked with the University’s Varsity Football team. Sometimes I run in the trails, and you can find me cheering hard if my kids are competing!

I snowboard when you can find snow, ski only across country, and run in snowshoes. I spend the summer on a mountain bike with my daring family, or on a paddleboard on the lake.

I love to read, and I can’t stop learning or eating delicious food. I find this thing called life pretty dang fascinating. Join me, won’t you?
